The spring is almost here. The nature will rise up, and the flowers will be in blossom. The time of the opened-air programmes is comming. In this article we offer you two, from these amazing events.
St. Matthew’s Fair
This is the most popular and biggest fair in Prague, and indeed the Czech Republic, and also it was the first spring fair in Europe.
St Matthew's Fair, known as Matějská pouť to the locals, is a time-honored Czech tradition. The earliest recorded festival began over 410 years ago. In total there are some 120 attractions on the exhibition grounds, including rollercoasters, houses of horror, carousels, waterfalls, virtual reality machines, cannonballs, a water world and a ferris wheel. Even though St Matthew's Fair is mainly a place where children can enjoy themselves. Some attractions are age-restricted for safety reasons.
Visiting Ferris Wheel is a must, which takes riders several meters up in the air. The popular attraction costs CZK 50 per ride, but the view is unforgettable.
Opening hours: Tue - Fri 14.00 – 21.00
Sat - Sun and public holidays 10.00 – 22.00
Nearest metro: Nadrazi Holesovice
