Join the effort to get more people on their bikes and fewer cars in the streets. Participate on a bike, scooter, by walking or jogging. Last year’s cyclists clocked in 59,200 km; all you need to do to participate is register on the Auto-Mat site.

22nd January, Galerie Rudolfinum
Galerie Rudolfinum opens an exhibit (“The Duck”) of Dutch painter Michaël Borremans work from January 21. The work of Belgian painter Michaël Borremans is characterized by a worryingly strong psychological moment and themes of latent violence, depicted with extraordinary beauty. Paintings and video will be on display through April 12. Admission is free.
21th January, Congress Center
This unique mix of percussion, dance, theater, and comedy with musical accompaniment is inspired by the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Since it debut in Brighton, UK in the summer of 1991, “Stomp” has been performed 22,000 times in over 50 countries.
22nd January, Vnitroblock
Organizers of this English-friendly trivia night encourage participants to “wipe away your brain fog and come in hot with all your seemingly useless trivia knowledge.” Teams of 3-6 players will compete to win a voucher for 10 beers.

22nd January, Kinos Svetozor and Pilotů
The 15th annual Prague Shorts will showcase short films from all over the world at the Svetozor and Pilotů cinemas from January 22 to January 26. The festival is prepared by Film Servis Festival Karlovy Vary, the organizer of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Turandot will return to the stage of the historical building of the National Theater in Prague after more than forty years. This makes Giacomo Puccini’s last opera the first premiere of the National Theatre Opera in the new year.
